Three trials down and Kate and I have had a fantastic time. We went to Tara, Barcaldine and Longreach Trials. They were well run and we enjoyed the company of all that went. We seen some very good handlers and enjoyed watching quite a few handy dogs work. The more I go the more I learn and I must admit I have a new opinion on 3 sheep trialling. It is a very challenging, enjoyable sport . Now how did we do? Glad you asked, we did great. Kate penned at Tara, won the cast lift and draw in the improver, 3rd in the encourage at Barcaldine and posted a few more nice scores. Bonnie Lass and I got 80 without the pen at Tara which was great for the young girl's first trip away, posted a few scores at Barcaldine and penned with Jack finally at Longreach. This was my first pen and I was overwhelmed by the good wishes I received from everyone. He scored 87 in the improver which also put me into our first final. I was over the moon. We came 5th and I also won novice handler what a way to end a trial. Back home now and my sheep are dropping lambs everywhere and I have a few more new dogs to train. Life couldn't get much better!
