Pups on the move

WOW how quick has time past, Bonnie's pups are now 9 weeks old and all that is left are the 2 we are keeping. They have gone to good homes (but I miss them) and look forward to hearing how they go. My training has been a on and off again routine at the moment. plenty of cattle work has kept Jack and Smudge busy. Boss finally found an owner and I am pleased to hear he is doing great in Victoria. I was in trouble for selling him as my husband Steve had grown very found of him. Bonnie is finally free of motherhood and has had one run on the cattle and showed her style quickly. No giving ground with this bitch.
Kate is busy in NZ doing a spot of skiing and bungy jumping while I clean pens and walk dogs, something wrong with this picture!!!
Had a training day at Spring Plains with a few very respected trainers. Jay cut himself badly and I was disappointed I couldn't show him off but enjoy watching Tony Jackson (who bred Jay) work his sisters. Mick Rigby brought along his tribe which included Ernie (sire of Bonnie's pups). I always learn plenty from these two trainers. It is an exciting time for Border Collie breeders as with the increase of imported stock plus the ability to AI and of course the Australian proven lines. I can only see the breed going forward as long as we always remember that it must be a complete package not just a lot of fancy names and numbers on a piece of paper.
Enough talk time to train and get my tribe going, the heat has set in so looks like early mornings if I am going to get it done!!
Take care.
